Finding the right therapist can feel overwhelming — especially when you're already carrying so much.
I'm Alexis Saray Cabrera, an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (AMFT #126349) with over six years of experience supporting individuals, children, and families through some of life's most challenging moments. My work is rooted in the belief that healing happens in relationship, and that every person deserves care that truly sees them.
As the child of immigrant parents and a first-generation professional, I understand firsthand what it means to navigate two worlds, to hold the values of your family while finding your footing in a new one. That lived experience shapes how I show up for the people I serve, particularly those carrying the weight of cultural identity, belonging, and intergenerational expectation.
I work with adults and college-age individuals navigating anxiety, depression, life transitions, and relational challenges, including the unique pressures that come with early adulthood, identity formation, and stepping into new roles. Whether you're a first-generation college student finding your way, someone renegotiating family relationships, or simply feeling like you've lost the thread of who you are, you don't have to figure it out alone.
My clinical background also includes deep expertise in early childhood mental health and trauma-informed care, which means I bring a strong understanding of how early experiences shape the patterns we carry into adulthood. Using evidence-based approaches, including Child-Parent Psychotherapy (CPP), Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), and attachment-focused interventions, I help clients explore the roots of what they're experiencing and build toward meaningful, lasting change.
I offer bilingual (English/Spanish) and bicultural services, because the healing space should never require you to leave part of yourself at the door.
I currently offer virtual sessions for those navigating family and relationship stressors, cultural issues, and life transitions, as well as those experiencing depression and anxiety, particularly as they relate to different life stages. Wherever you are in your journey, I aim to meet you there with openness, compassion, and care.
Warmly,
Alexis S. Cabrera, M.A.
